It is through speech that we can teach others who we are and what life has taught us!
My role as a speaker is to educate, inspire, and motivate others to act. I believe that empowering others around with my knowledge, humour, and engagement through speaking events is one important way to give back to others. My source of inspiration comes from my own personal stories and experiences that I have gained over the years.
Unfortunately, people often have the misconception that project management is primarily applicable to information technology or engineering professionals. The reality is that organizations are becoming much more project-oriented and the practice of project management is becoming an important competency across a number of disciplines.
In fact, according to the Project Management Institute (PMI), employers across the globe will need about 88 million people capable of working in project management-oriented jobs by 2027 (Project Management Job Growth and Talent Gap Report 2017-2027). Much of this demand will originate from developing countries such as China and India. Compounding this problem will be the shortage of qualified individuals capable of implementing new initiatives and driving change as the world’s talent pool continues to reach retirement age.
My role as a speaker is to educate, inspire, and motivate others to act. My goal is to inform and educate others about the importance of project management in their lives and in their careers. I do this through my knowledge and experience as well as through humour, and engagement. My source of inspiration comes from my own personal stories and experiences that I have gained over the years.
Since 2017, I have had the privilege of being a Guest Speaker at the following events:
- Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) Peel Region
- HRPA Halton Region
- HRP Ottawa Region
- University of Toronto Rotman School of Business
Some of the topics I have spoken on in the past include:
- The essential building blocks of any project plan
- Reasons behind project failures
- Skillsets needed to success as a Project Manager
- Commonly used tools in the field of project management
This is why many organizations and conferences turn to me when they need some one as a Keynote Speaker to bring the concepts of project management to life in an easy-to-understand manner. More importantly, speaking events are an important way to give back to others.
